Born in Pulchocwk, Lalitpur in Ashadh 2013 B.S., Dr. Sarita Shrestha, is a renowned name in Ayurveda. She has been involved in many organizations. She is the chair person of Devi Ma Kunja Hospital and SAMATA (Society of Awareness, Mutuality and Transformation). She is a visiting faculty of Mt. Madonna Institute, a College of Ayurveda, in California, USA. She is a life member of ADAN (Ayurveda Doctor Association, Nepal) and also WIST (Women in science and Technology). Jonathan (Jon) H. Edwards (25) is a Fulbright Research Scholar in Nepal staying from September ‘08 to July ‘09. He is investing his time to study Ayurveda. He grew up in New York City and Vermont and has visited Italy, France, India, and Thailand. He speaks and writes Nepali well, sings Nepalese songs playing Madal, Tabala, and Guitar. And he is currently learning Newari as well. He did his bachelors at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania (USA). Last year he completed the Ayurvedic Studies Program-I (ASP-I) at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. The Institute is headed by Dr. Vasant Lad, a renowned Vaidya and teacher of incredible talent. Interview with Prof. Dr. D. B. Roka

Born on 2016 B.S. Chaitra 8, to Dharma Kumari Roka and Tej Bahadur Roka, Dr. Dev Bahadur Roka is one of the prominent faces in field of Ayurveda in Nepal. Dr. Roka’s origin is in Arjunchaupari- Sangja. Best known for his academic excellence (excellent practice), simple and down to earth nature, Dr. Roka is now Chief of Ayurveda Campus, Kirtipur. He did his intermediate course at Ayurveda Campus Nardevi, BAMS in State Ayurveda College Lukhnow, and MD (Ayurveda) in Banarus Hindu University. He has got a long experience of health practice and teaching health in hospitals and colleges. His work experience includes health post of Sindhuli to Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj and BP Koirala Cancer Hospital, Bharatpur. On his time he had to struggle a lot to study due to unfriendly political situation of the country. Panchyat system withdrew his name from Colombo Plan Scholarship despite him being the top student. Indian Embassy supported him get educated in India.

Dr. Dhanik Lal Bharkher [BAMS, Government Ayurveda College, Patna; MD in Kaya Chikitsa, Vanaras Hindu University] started his service in health as well as education from 2034 B.S. He has been serving as Campus Chief of Ayurveda Campus, Kirtipur, for the second consecutive term.
